Changes in BPBible 0.4.4

Languages

BPBible is now available in Spanish.

Keyboard shortcuts and navigation

Additional keyboard shortcuts have been added for navigation:

  • Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down move to the previous and next verses.
  • Ctrl-Left and Ctrl-Right move to the previous and next chapters, as well as the previous and next dictionary entry and other book entry.
  • 'j' and 'k' move to the previous and next verse in Bibles and commentaries, and to the previous and next dictionary entry or other book entry for dictionaries and other books.
  • 'p' and 'n' move to the previous and next search result for the current search in the current book. 'N' can also be used to move to the previous search result. This saves the need to bring up the search dialog to find the next or previous result when reading through all of the results.

Moving back or forward through the history will now return you to the position you were in in the chapter, rather than the selected verse. This is important where you have scrolled away from the current verse and clicked on a hyperlink.

The escape key now dismisses the search dialog and the "Manage Topics" window.

Topic Management

The comment for the passage currently being hovered over in the topic tooltip is now highlighted to make it easier to find what was said about that passage. This comment is automatically scrolled to when the tooltip is anchored.

The topic title is now included in bold at the start of the topic tooltip.

The tags for a passage with multiple verses again appear at the end of every verse, rather than just appearing after the last verse of the range.

Removed a crash when clicking on a tag for a topic that had already been deleted.

Tooltip Handling

Tooltips no longer disappear if the mouse is over a tooltip for a reference in the first tooltip. This is particularly important for topic tooltips which contain a list of references with comments.

Long tooltips taking up the entire screen are now no longer directly under the mouse, since this meant that the links or tags being hovered over could not be clicked on.

Other bug-fixes

A run-time error when deleting a book on Windows has been removed.

A problem preventing books from being able to be unlocked has been fixed.

A bug preventing searching over a custom range (such as Genesis - Numbers) has been fixed.

Two problems with references from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge have been fixed:

  • Tooltips were not showing for some references from Proverbs and Isaiah, and the references did not work.
  • References to Judges went to Jude or Revelation rather than Judges.
